Wellness Care for Cats

Tabby CatOur feline friends exude mystery and cleverness. These qualities are, in part, what make them so loveable and fascinating. Unfortunately, these qualities are also what make symptoms of pain or illness so hard to detect. This is why annual wellness care is important for the early detection of illness or pain in cats.

The team at South Auburn Veterinary Hospital adores cat patients and encourages owners to maintain annual or twice-a-year (recommended) examinations.

Your cat’s wellness appointment covers all important preventive care needs, including:

  • Head-to-Tail Physical Examination
  • Vaccinations
  • Blood Profile Analysis
  • Urinalysis
  • Fecal Screening
  • Dental Health
  • Parasite Prevention
  • Behavioral and Dietary Recommendations

Feline Core Vaccinations

Depending on your pet’s specific health needs, we recommend the following vaccines for adult felines:

  • FVRCP (rhinotracheitis, calicivirus, and panleukopenia)
  • Feline Leukemia
  • Rabies

Along with these vaccinations, we suggest keeping your cat (even if he is indoors) on a year-round parasite preventive to protect against fleas, ticks, and mosquitoes.
